Travel and Accommodations

The Collegium Ramazzini is pleased to offer local accommodations and hospitality to Fellows and Emeritus members of the Collegium. Fees for spouses, guests and external conference participants (non-Fellows) in the amount of €250 are to be paid at the time of online registration.

All participants are responsible for their own travel to Italy and are encouraged to make plans to arrive by air in Bologna or by train to Modena or Carpi on Friday, 24 October 2008. The conference organization will arrange local ground transportation to and from the Bologna G. Marconi International Airport (BLQ) and Modena Centrale train station to Carpi.

Conference accommodations in Carpi will be at the Hotel Touring, Hotel Duomo, Hotel Residence Villa Richeldi, and Hotel Da Giorgio, all located in the historical center of Carpi. Hotel reservations for Fellows of the Collegium Ramazzini and spouses/guests are made by the conference organization on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please do not contact the hotels directly. Participants who are not Fellows of the Collegium will be contacted by the conference organization regarding accommodation options in Carpi.

IMPORTANT NOTICES: Due to congested traffic and roadwork between Bologna and Modena, we are no longer able to accommodate individual transport from the Bologna Airport (BLQ) or the Bologna Centrale train station to Carpi. Instead, shuttles will be arranged from BLQ to the Hotel Touring, Carpi every two hours on Friday, 24 October. Guests travelling by train are kindly asked to arrive in Modena or Carpi rather than Bologna where you will be greeted at the train station. Please note that we are unable to arrange transfers from the Bolonga-Forlì airport. Return transport to BLQ and Modena Centrale will be arranged as in previous years by the drivers of the town of Carpi.

Online Registration, Jubilee Donations and Membership Fees

Online registration for this event will remain open from 1 July 2008 to 15 September 2008. Participants are encouraged to book travel arrangements early so as to communicate arrival and departure information at the time of registration.

At the time of registration participants may choose to make a financial contribution to the Collegium Ramazzini's Jubilee Fund. Proceeds will be used to assist colleagues in need to attend annual meetings. In addition, Fellows of the Collegium Ramazzini may pay annual membership fees online via credit card. Receipts for membership fees will be issued by the Treasurer. Please note that it may be necessary for US participants to first contact their credit card company to authorize foreign online transactions.
